While there are many variables involved in raising your puppy and we cannot control the exact outcome of their health, there is a lot we can do to give them the best possible start.
We want you to know that our care for you and your puppy does not end after bringing your new puppy home. In the case of any issue arising, we are here to see you through it.
In the rare case of a genetic issue arising in the first 2 years of your puppy’s life, we will either replace the puppy with one of equal value, or reimburse the cost of medical expenses up to the total cost of the puppy (not including sales tax or travel expenses). We ask that two vets confirm the health condition prior to reimbursement.
Because hip dysplasia is a multifactorial condition influenced by both genetic and environmental factors, this is the one condition excluded from our health guarantee. Because factors beyond the breeder's control—including nutrition, growth rate, weight management, exercise, injury, and reproductive status—may affect the development and progression of hip dysplasia, coverage is not guaranteed, but may be fully or partially reimbursed at Carrier Family Doodles’ discretion.

Since our parent dogs are health tested and annually evaluated for overall health and structural soundness (including the heart, eyes, hips, knees, and patellas, as well as reproductive health), we expect that our Genetic Health Guarantee is simply for your confidence. But in the event that any issues do arise with your puppy as it grows into adulthood, we are ready to support you.
Health-Tested Parents

Over the years, Carrier Family Doodles has had very few puppies develop serious health concerns as they mature. The reason for this is simple. All of our parent dogs are DNA tested, and have their hips and elbows, patella, eyes, heart, and overall health annually evaluated with our USDA-certified vet who has 20+ years of experience. If there are any issues of concern, we have no problem removing a dog from our breeding program (but this, too, has happened rarely). As a result, we have confidence in offering you a 60-day health warranty and a 2-year genetic guarantee for your puppy.
Vaccination/Deworming Program

Carrier Family Doodles puppies are guaranteed to go home healthy from tip of nose to tail.
To achieve this, we follow a strict vaccination/deworming protocol and have our puppies vet checked before sending them to their new homes. They receive a Parvo vaccine at 4 weeks and their first 5-way vaxx at 6-weeks. They are regularly de-wormed at 3,5, and 7 weeks (and every 2 weeks thereafter if they remain with us). We mix a Coccidia preventative in our puppy food. We are also very protective of our puppies when it comes to outdoor exposure.
However, puppies can easily pick up parasites from their Mama, who is more susceptible after birthing. They may then pass these parasites along to some of their litter in the early days of puppy life. Even in the absence of any positive test for parasite infection, we usually do a preventative treatment for the litter for 5-7 days before go-home, just to ensure good health from our home to yours.
We ask that you get your puppy checked by a vet within 72 hours of adoption. Any normal vet costs incurred are the responsibility of the owner, but if your vet discovers a pre-existing condition (such as giardia exposure, ear infection, etc.), we will pay for treatment for up to 60 days.
Our health warranty also provides options in the case that your vet should discover a condition that could be genetic in nature, but our parent dogs are all health-tested and we have never yet had such an issue with any of our puppies.
